'82-'84 Pontiac Firebird Paper Models by ProjectKITT '82-'84 Pontiac Firebird Paper Models by ProjectKITT
Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'm working on remaking the wheel wells for these... it might take a while but I will update each model as I have time :)

There are two so far with the updated wheel wells: Dark Red & Silver '86 [link] and KARR [link]

. . .
These are part of a series of Firebird paper models made by myself and imcold :iconimclod:; also contributed to by ThunderChild :iconthunderchildftc:, for a version that is in-progress. The build thread is on PaperModelers.com: [link]. Lots of colors are available, as well as several Knight Rider versions :)

Sorry it's a little messy, I'm thinking of a way to organize the links better :)

The "big" KITT is going to be a fun project! All your paper models are skillfully done & way cool!

Nice photo :) I haven't seen the shiny Kitt version until just now, looks quite good! By the way, how do you find the assembly of the "remake", did the revised shapes make it harder to assemble, or is it more or less the same?

Thanks :) Are you referring to the newer style in general that we released or the wheel wells I'm working on?

Style. But now that you say it, I'm curious about the wells too. I have some time later today, so I'll try the version I sketched on pm.com

I believe the appearance has improved without adding any difficulty :)

For the wheel wells, I just changed them to attach at the base of the fender flares instead of the outer edge so they will look cleaner although they probably won't be any easier to assemble. I also made them a little wider so the tires will fit better. Other than that they are basically the same. I'm curious to see how yours turn out :)

Great, so everything went as expected :D Now I can't decide if I should finish the first version, or build the revised one. I even started a new mesh with dimensions based on a plastic model, mostly to learn myself how to develop round but unfoldable shapes; I'm translating that knowledge to my 2nd gen Firebird model (the rear part is really difficult). On which I worked on instead of working on the wheel wells, so again, I have nothing to show :/ Plus I'm soldering my brother's broken headphones and it's a messy job, so I rather won't promise anything soon.

Yes it did :D The wheel wells I'm making should be fine, but if/when you decide to do something different we can always update it :)

That sounds like a good way to learn. I wish you luck with the 2nd gen :) It does look tricky (lots of compound curves!).

I started my "career" by doing additions to other models, so it seems I'm still on that path

Thanks! It'll take a few tests to make it look nice, but I believe it's doable.

Very nice! I love the colors :)

Now all you need is a white one to complete the set!
